ASAP has been in business in many forms since 1996. It was founded by Dominic Collier who continues to have a passion for the business.
The successes of the past include, being nominated as the security provider for the Law Courts Limited, encompassing the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia, Supreme Court of NSW, as well as the Security Provider for the Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunals throughout Sydney and QBE Insurance.
Some of the lessons learnt from the past have been, to provide an excellent service is not in itself enough, it is just as important to be SEEN to provide an excellent service, all those things we do to make our service unique need to be communicated to our clients in order to assist them in reinforcing their correct decision and in securing the work against our price driven competitors.
ASAP reputation in the community is one of service strength and professionalism.
ASAP sales history has been slow to steady, but when taken into consideration that up until now it has never operated a dedicated sales & marketing team. Nearly all past sales therefore have been based upon client initiated word of mouth referrals.
ASAP profit history started poorly and has improved over the last few years as Management focus has been shared more with the overall health of the business rather than solely on the service operations.
Several years ago, the Managing Director decided to apply the 80/20 rule and cut 80% of the client base that were unprofitable, thereby reducing the operating costs by more than that figure and found the organisation had a lot more time to provide a better service to the remaining "Gold" clients rather than spending the majority of time on those clients that were essentially unprofitable. This was an enormously beneficial exercise as it set the tone for the future and now ASAP will assess each partnership with a client to ensure that it is mutually beneficial rather than saying yes to every customer that wants a product or service.
The organisation’s strengths are it’s: name, image, human resources, systems, leadership and attitude, energy & passion.
The factors that will make the company succeed are; a willingness to adapt, improve and to try new markets and methods, and energy which is passed onto customers through the employees.
Our major competitive strengths particularly in the security industry which relies heavily on technology and innovative thinking to defeat criminal attempts are our innovations in methods, products and systems which competitors are often slow to adopt, by the time they come to grips with our new technology and methods ASAP has gone another step ahead. Another competitive strength in the manpower side will be incentive based wages and partnering with employees, in this way they have a vested interest in both their performance and the health of the company, it also means employee retention rates are higher further benefiting both employees and customers.
Some significant challenges the company immediately faces are the resources & capital to expand into newly targeted markets and territories. Along with our total package theory must come an ability to provide services in all areas, no matter how remote, which will necessitate funding as well as infrastructure and a focus on building the sales and marketing team in order to create a truly national presence. Whilst ASAP systems all run nationally and therefore benefit from the economies of scale, there will be some further spending on administration and operational support to deliver services to these regional areas.
The strengths Dominic Collier brings to the business are: a strong security background, particularly in the areas of security guards, cash collection and security cameras, alarms and access control,, positive energy, passion, IQ of 140, flair, risk management skills (diploma), business management skills (diploma), people management skills and experience dealing with all aspects of the businesses, an ability to assist others to self manage as well as bringing the undervalued sense of humour, teamwork and fun to the office or any environment where he works.
The business is expected to grow rapidly in the areas of Cash in Transit, Training, and Electronic Security and Products as these are areas ASAP has shown very little focus to date, having a new sales and marketing department driving new business will mean an enormous growth in the generation and conversion of leads into sales.

ASAP Organisation will be owned predominantly by the Directors and employees with Dominic Collier being Managing Director until retirement (approx 30 years), driving general direction and values.
ASAP aims for all employees to have some vested financial interest in the company from cleaners, to guards, to management. ASAP provides both mobile foot and mobile vehicle patrol services utilising uniformed guards and sign-written vehicles. Patrols are carried out 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Each Mobile Patrolman Guard is issued with keys and alarm instructions to customer premises and carries out an agreed number of inspections at each site throughout each shift. The Mobile Patrol Service is designed to meet individual client requirements, however because the cost is shared by a number of clients in a patrol area, it offers an affordable and effective alternative to a full time security presence.
While crime prevention and security are the major reasons for using the Mobile Patrol Service, in reality the service offers much more and is becoming increasingly utilised during daylight hours.

An alarm activation is usually inconvenient and often a burden to key holders. ASAP provides an Alarm Response Service to minimise disruption, both at work and at home. We act as your key holders, responding to each and every alarm activation, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
ASAP will deal with any criminal act and liase with Police Officers, obtaining crime or incident reference numbers where appropriate. Our security officers remain on the site until your home or premises have been secured, the alarm has been reset and any danger to you or your staff is removed. In the event of a false alarm, we aim to identify the cause of the activation and secure the premises quickly and efficiently. A full report on all alarm activations, regardless of cause, is supplied for your information.
